Trotters Sewing Company
Trotters Sewing Company’s (TSC) story began in Asheboro, NC in October of 1992. Barbara and Jerry Trotter, both from textile backgrounds, founded a contract cut and sew business, BJ Con-Sew, Inc., and the couple, along with one other sewer, manufactured mattress covers.
Word spread of their services, and the couple’s business slowly grew. They moved the business from its original 600 square foot facility to a 6,000 square foot facility across town. They also recruited their only son, Todd, to join the company. Today, he is Chief Operating Officer, and has been with the business for over 20 years.
Today TSC is located in a 60,000 square foot facility in Asheboro's Industrial Park, not too far from the small original site. The business is close to Interstate 73 and many of central North Carolina’s major cities and airports - Greensboro, Charlotte, and Raleigh/Durham.
In 2018, after celebrating 25 years of business, the company changed its name to Trotters Sewing Company to reflect the change in leadership. Todd and his wife Lori and the couple's daughters, Shea, Emma and Annabeth, the family’s second and third generations, now manage the company in various ways. Although TSC continues to evolve, the owners and staff maintain the small family business atmosphere the company was founded upon.
